Qi Gong (1912 ~ 2005), courtesy name Yuan Bai, Manchu, contemporary Guoxue master. During his lifetime he was the professor and doctoral student tutor of College of Liberal Arts,Beijing Normal University.
Served as the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, the Curator of Central Literature and History Study Hall, the chairman of National Heritage Identification Commission, the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the president of Xiling Seal Society.
Under the tutelage of well-known historian Chen Yuan, he has long engaged in successive courses teaching and research, including the history of Chinese literature, Chinese art history, Chinese history essays, poems, and the Tang and Song Ci, and so on.
Taught more than 70 years of Chinese classical literature in teaching and research with outstanding contributions for the country to cultivate a large number of talents in classical literature teaching and research.
Skilled in poetry, calligraphy and painting, which are known as "Sanjue".
His works are the essence of calligraphy, a collection of beauties, unique with high standard, which has been called "Font Qi."
His reputation at home and abroad are also old-style poetry. He is China’s well-known connoisseur and identification of cultural relics at home, for the identification of ancient paintings and rubbings are particularly specialized, and made outstanding contributions for the country organized and maintained a large number of ancient antiques.
